PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Plurgasm collects when you use plurgasm.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have over your own data. We have written it in plain English on purpose — you should be able to understand exactly what happens to your information without a law degree.
By using the site you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service.
Who We Are
Plurgasm is an independent rave-culture directory — a festival calendar, blog, creator and brand directory, and community voting platform. The site is operated by Plurgasm ("we," "us," or "our"). If you have any questions about this policy, about the data we hold about you, or you want to exercise any of the rights described below, you can reach us at beastmodebass7@gmail.com.
Information We Collect
We try to collect as little as we reasonably can. The information we do collect falls into the following categories.
Account Information
When you sign in, you do so with Google Sign-In, handled through our authentication provider, Supabase. As part of that process we receive basic profile details from your Google account — typically your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this to create and identify your account. We never see and never store your Google password.
Usage & Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. This automatically collects information such as the pages you view, how long you spend on them, the device and browser you use, and your approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address. This data is aggregated and statistical — it helps us see what is popular and what is broken, not to identify you personally.
Content You Submit
When you submit something through one of our forms — for example an article submission or a partner / contact inquiry — that submission is processed by Formspree, which delivers it to us by email. This includes whatever you choose to put in the form, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Upvotes & Community Activity
Plurgasm lets signed-in users upvote creators and brands. The votes you cast are stored together with your account in our Supabase database. We use this both to prevent duplicate voting and to power the ranked, community-sorted directory lists.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies and your browser's local storage for two main purposes: to keep you logged in by storing your session token, and to support Google Analytics measurement. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to sell you to third parties. See "Cookies & Tracking" below for how to opt out.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate you and keep you securely signed in.
- Run the community voting features and sort the creator and brand directories by the votes our users cast.
- Respond to inquiries you send us through our forms, including partnership and article submissions.
- Understand and measure how the site is used through analytics.
- Maintain, debug, and improve the site and its content.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
Third-Party Processors
Running Plurgasm relies on a small number of trusted service providers. Each of them only receives the data they need to perform their function, and each maintains its own privacy practices:
- Google — provides Google Analytics (usage measurement) and Google OAuth (the "Sign in with Google" login).
- Supabase — provides our authentication service and the database that stores account information and your upvotes.
- Formspree — handles the delivery of our contact, partner, and article submission forms.
- GitHub Pages — hosts and serves the website itself.
When you interact with these features, the relevant provider processes your data on our behalf. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies to understand their practices in full.
Cookies & Tracking
As described above, we rely on cookies and local storage for login sessions and analytics. You are in control of these:
- You can clear or block cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Blocking login cookies will mean you cannot stay signed in.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Data Retention
We keep account information and upvote records for as long as your account exists, so that the features that depend on them keep working. Form submissions are retained as email records for as long as we reasonably need them to respond to and follow up on your inquiry. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings. When data is no longer needed, or when you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize it as described below.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We extend the core of these rights to everyone who uses Plurgasm. You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your account and the personal data associated with it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of analytics as described above.
To request access to or deletion of your data, simply email us at beastmodebass7@gmail.com from the address associated with your account, and we will action your request. We will never charge you to exercise these rights.
Children's Privacy
Plurgasm is not directed to children and is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please also note that some festival listings on the site are age-restricted (often 18+ or 21+); those age requirements are set by the individual events, and you should always confirm them with the official event organizer. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be highlighted more prominently. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
